Over the last few years, Dubai has become a top sporting destination in the Middle East. It offers wide opportunities for international competitions that attract athletes and sport fans from around the world.
On January 26, Dubai hosted 19-th annual Standard Chartered Dubai Marathon. The competition has been held since 2000, it gathers up to 30 000 participants. The route starts and finishes on Umm Suqeim Road in front of Madinat Jumeirah in the shade of famous Burj Al-Arab.
Our colleague, the system analyst of the management company Asset Temirkhan took part in the marathon. For several years, he has been practicing track and field athletics. Asset began preparing for the competitions late summer last year with regular workouts. With an NT.Payments logo, our colleague successfully passed the distance of 42 km 195 m and received a medal.
This is a fourth year for Abu Dhabi to open the world’s triathlon series. 103 professionals from 28 countries and about 2500 amateur sportsmen from 86 countries tool part in this spectacular race.
Triathlon involves the completion of three continuous and sequential endurance disciplines: swimming, cycling, and running. The participants have the opportunity to choose the type of distance: sprint or Olympic distance.
Asset participated in two Olympic-distance races, ITU Abu Dhabi and TriYAS, that included 1.5 km swimming, 40 km bike ride and 10 km running. He was preparing for the competitions for about six month. Several times a week Asset was jogging along Corniche, cycling on the Formula 1 track on Yas Island and swimming.
Participating in sport activities builds character, develops desire to win, teaches how to overcome obstacles and struggle against difficulties. These are useful skills for life and work. It is also an opportunity to increase brand awareness. NT.Payments sticker on a T-shirt and corporate heroes Mr. Cash and Mr. Pay did not go unnoticed.
The company is proud of achievements of its employees because with such active and dedicated people we move forward.
